The rules (keep it honest):

• One frame. Pick the moment, commit, and don't reshoot. Golden hour moves fast, and waiting for it teaches you to read light rather than force it.
• The light is the subject. If it looks like a normal midday photo that happens to be warm, keep shooting. The golden light should be doing the work.
• Time it well. Sun rising or setting — aim for the roughly hour-long window when the sun is low and warm. Get out before the light's gone; it never stays.
• Keep it G-rated. Golden hour is gorgeous — keep it that way.
